Spud-U -Like

One of the large fields just south of the track is being sown with potatoes at the moment. This will ensure that we have a substantial area of bare ground throughout the rest of the spring and adds a welcome diversity to the Winter Barley and Oil seed Rape which is already several inches tall. The high ridges of potato setting seem to be a magnet for larks, pipits and wagtails as well as other migrants including Wheatear and Yellow Wagtail, we will just have to wait and see!

Tractor-fest!

Both this morning and this evening very little to report, another Wheatear off the track (male) first thing and after a few days absence the Barn Owl was once again in the meadow.

...butter wouldn't melt!
